This first 6 channel Urodynamic laboratory In the Country was set up In the department In1979 Dr. Zafar Khan, the ace person In the field of urodynamics, based in New York provided training to the faculty here. ANDROLOGY LABORATORY

Research in infertility and Impotence is being carried out. Male infertility Is the field of collaborative research being carried with the department of Zoology, University of Rajasthan, which provides us with various studies of semen analysis including electron microscopic analysis.

Evolution of Department

  • 1976 : The Urology development and research center saw the light of the day with Prof. W.A. Milner one of the best TURP surgeons in the world at that time performing the 1st TURP.
  • 1979 : This first 6 channel Urodynamic laboratory In the country was set up In the department and Dr. Zafar Khan, the ace person In the field of urodynamics in the world, based in New York provided training to the faculty here.
  • 1980 : 1st batch of Mch started in the department.
  • 1986 : Dr. Arthur smith, the pioneer in PCNL surgery provided training and laid the foundation of PCNL becoming one of the first to start PCNL in the country. The department has the honour to have performed most number of PCNLs in the world.
  • 1994 : The Department started live Donor Renal Transplant and till now more than 500 live renal Transplants have been done.
  • 2010 : Holmium laser was incorporated in the OT.
  • 2012 : Laparoscopic surgery was started.
  • 2014 : RIRS( Retrograde intra renal surgery) initiated.
  • 2014 : Cadaveric renal transplant started.
  • 2021 : New state of the art top end Dornier lithotripter installed in the new super speciality block.
  • 2021 : Department of Urology is supposed to shift in the New block on 15th August,2021
