Overview

The Department of Urology was established in year 1975 by Dr. K. C. Gangwal.
The Department started Live Donor Renal Transplant in 1994 and till now More than 700 live Renal Transplants have been done.
Cadaveric Kidney transplant started in February 2015 and 70 cadaveric Renal transport successfully done till date.
We were the first to start Urodynamics and PCNL(Percutaneous Nephrolithotripsy) in the country The center is known for its highest number of PCNL surgeries in the world. The Department has performed more than 50000 PCNL procedures since its inception in 1986.
We perform all urological surgeries including advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Our department has a good academic & research training program for M.Ch residents with ten trainee residents per year( One of the largest in the country) & has published many research papers in various reputed Medical Journals worldwide.

1976 : The urology development and research Center saw the light of the day in W.A. Milner one of best tur surgeon perfomed 1^st TURP
1978 : 1^st batch of Mch started in year of
1979 : This first 6 channel Urodynamic laboratory In the Country was set up In the department InDr. Zafar Khan, the ace person In the field of urodynamics, based in New York provided training to the faculty here.
1986 : Dr. Arthur smith, one of the stalwarts In PCNL surgery provided training to us. And laid the foundation of PCNL in country. The department has the honour to have performrd most number of PCNL in the world

2012 : in Year Laparoscopic Operations Were Started
2015 : in Year Started Cadaveric Renal Transplant In Urology Department Sms Medical College And Hospital Jaipur.

To assist in providing telecommunication and network facilities.
To help in maintenance and buying of instruments and other consumables as and when required with its fund and donations received by the society.
